The software tools I use primarily for my design work is from Adobe's Creative Suite 5 (CS5). This set includes Adobe Photoshop CS5, Adobe Illustrator CS5 and Adobe InDesign CS5. I am proficient and up-to-date in these industry standard software applications. I do continually aim to improve upon my skills and knowledge of industry standards by attending classes at Seattle's excellent School of Visual Concepts as well as immerse myself in the extensive literature, tutorials and text available online. Stagnancy and complaceny is death in the design industry.

Print Design

Using the industry standard design applications Adobe Photoshop CS5 and Adobe Illustrator CS5, I can create effective and eye-catching print creatives for any company, product or branding needs. From personal to commercial usage, I have experience designing print-based work that captures the client's goals for the subject they are promoting. This includes:

  • Branding Development for products and/or companies
  • Mailers
  • Print Advertisements
  • Tradeshow Artwork
  • Business Cards
  • Posters, Flyers, T-shirt designs and much more.

Web Design

Using the industry standard design applications Adobe Photoshop CS5, Adobe Illustrator CS5, Flash and Dreamweaver CS5, I can create compelling, creative and eye-grabbing website designs for any project, product or company. This includes:

  • Web site layout and design
  • HTML layout and templates
  • Logo/identity branding (if needed)
  • Flash motion sequences (if needed)
  • Manage/update website via FTP (if needed)

Rates

My current rate for all print design projects (including logo/branding development) is $75/per hour. The first half balance of the projected total cost is expected in advance of the project's design start date. The remaining balance is due immediately upon delivery of the project design to the client.

My current rate for all web design projects is $350 for the home/main page with each subsequent (sub) page $150/each. The first half balance of the projected total cost is expected in advance of the project's design start date. The remaining balance is due immediately upon delivery of the project design to the client.

Good To Know: I am a designer, not a developer

I do not provide any database or programming/code work beyond basic HTML web design. My work is entirely front-end (non e-commerce/scripts/database, aka "back-end" programming). If these are required I do have a reliable, excellent web developer I sub-contract out to for more demanding web sites and services. It's human nature to try to find someone who does both. However, it has been my experience that good developers do not normally make good designers, nor are good designers necessarily good coders/programmers. Having two people whose expertise are in both primary areas makes for the strongest overall end-product.

What to expect when working with me

The first phase will involve communicating with you concerning what the scope of the project will be. This is a crucial phase that involves targetting the goals of the project so I can identify the target audience and create an end result that gives the project the best chance of longevity and success.

I will require any and all photos and existing branding/logo/identity imagery that you will want on the design in advance. I accept any and all of the standard image formats such as .jpg, .bmp, .tiff, .psd, .pdf and so forth. These can be sent to me via email or snail mailed to me via CD if the file sizes are too large for email. Anything over 5mgs total is usually too large for one single email.

Once the initial design phase begins, you can expect a symbiotic process that involves my sending you mock ups and updates as much as possible. Through the years I have found this to be the most effective method in making sure designer/client are on the same page while minimizing misscommunication throughout the design process. On average, you can expect the first mock up to be submitted within 1 week of the down payment.

I like to think I work fast without compromising quality. Since the design process is so organic and subjective by nature - (as well as the projects themselves vary in design detail, demands and scope) - I do not nor can I make any guarantees on how soon I will be able to complete a project. However, my committment and focus is excellent and I have never had a client in 14 years tell me they were dissatisifed with how long it took me to complete a project. Most often they are pleased with how soon I was able to effectively deliver the end result.

Payment Method

I require half down of the project total to begin work. I accept checks or money orders payable to:
